We are seeking a Workplace Health and Ability Specialist to join our Human Resources team in a permanent full-time capacity. This role involves leading the administration of both occupational and non-occupational disability management programs within the organization. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance on workplace accommodations, attendance support, and return-to-work planning, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Key responsibilities include managing disability cases, reviewing medical information, developing individualized accommodation plans, and serving as the primary contact for all disability management matters. The Specialist will also ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, coordinate medical examinations, and prepare documentation for grievances and legal proceedings.
In addition to these duties, the role requires providing coaching to leaders on attendance support and disability management, participating in case discussions, and collaborating with Human Resources to facilitate effective case management. The Specialist will monitor trends related to absenteeism and claims, preparing reports and recommendations for leadership to improve practices and outcomes.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with additional certifications in disability management considered an asset. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position.
