Vice President, Estimating

We are seeking a senior estimating leader for a general contracting environment. This role combines strategic oversight, team leadership, and commercial judgment. As part of the senior leadership group, the person in this position will help shape bidding strategy, influence which opportunities are pursued, and ensure estimates support profitable growth and disciplined risk management. Key responsibilities include setting the direction for the estimating function, supervising and developing a team of estimators, and maintaining strong coordination with project management, engineering, and operations. The role also involves reviewing tender documents, guiding quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis, validating final submissions, and establishing internal standards for margin, review, and approval. A major part of the mandate is to support business planning by analyzing market conditions, profitability, and competitive positioning. The successful candidate will also contribute to succession planning, talent development, and continuous improvement within the department. In addition, they will help strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other industry partners, while representing the organization professionally with clients and sector stakeholders. The ideal profile includes a background in construction, engineering, architecture, or a related field, along with extensive estimating experience and several years in a senior management capacity. Strong leadership, sound judgment, and familiarity with modern estimating tools are important.
