This opportunity is for a railway conductor role supporting train and yard operations. The position is part of a unionized environment and centers on safe, reliable movement of rail cars and trains. You will work as part of a crew handling switching duties, assembling and breaking apart train consists, and moving cars between yards or other operating areas. Safety awareness is essential at all times, along with the ability to follow operating instructions precisely.
The work can be physically demanding and may involve walking long distances over uneven ground, climbing, lifting, and handling heavy equipment. Candidates must be comfortable with irregular schedules in a 24/7 setting, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended time away from home. Outdoor work in changing weather conditions is part of the role.
Requirements include being at least 18 years old, holding a high school diploma or equivalent, having a valid driver’s license, and being able to read, understand, and communicate safety and operating instructions in English. Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to respond quickly in time-sensitive situations are important. A valid passport that supports cross-border travel is also required.
This role can provide a path to other positions in railway operations over time. Paid training is included to help build the knowledge needed for the job.
