Technical Director

We are seeking a Technical Director to help turn ambitious creative concepts into practical, buildable solutions for large-scale experiential projects. In this role, you will act as the key link between creative direction, spatial design, technical constraints, and budget realities. You will step in during the design stage to assess feasibility, adapt concepts where needed, and help move projects from idea to execution. Your work will involve close collaboration with creative leads, 3D designers, and production teams to bring technical requirements into the early design process. You will oversee the technical development of project elements such as built structures, display components, furniture, and integrated systems, while also supporting execution planning and delivery. You will prepare cost estimates at different stages, contribute to implementation documents, and help coordinate external partners, fabricators, and specialized suppliers. The role also includes prototyping and testing ideas to confirm technical choices, as well as working with architects, engineers, and general contractors to communicate project needs. Depending on the project, you may also support fabrication logistics, on-site assembly, and technical installation. We are looking for someone with substantial experience in technical direction, project engineering, or scenic/experience design, along with a background in a related field and strong knowledge of 3D and technical drawing tools. A solid understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and integrated systems is important.
