The Supervisor, Distribution Operations is responsible for overseeing powerline crews and external contractors involved in the distribution system. This role focuses on planning and scheduling daily activities to ensure safety and efficiency. Key responsibilities include providing leadership to a team of technicians, setting goals, and managing training and performance. The supervisor will promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and conducting safety training and meetings.
The position involves organizing and supervising construction, installation, repair, and maintenance activities for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Collaboration with engineering and construction teams for project planning and material requirements is essential. The supervisor will also ensure that materials, equipment, and vehicles are well-maintained and available.
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of industry experience and three years of supervisory experience. A relevant technical degree or equivalent experience is required, along with a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Proficiency in safety practices and software applications is essential. Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to work flexible shifts. The role requires a proactive mindset and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
