Service Manager, Technology Architecture

Reporting to the director of the digital foundation function, the Service Manager, Technology Architecture leads a team of technology architects and guides the development, governance, and consistency of the organization’s technology architecture in line with enterprise architecture direction. The role supports digital and IT transformation initiatives, with a strong focus on security, resilience, and long-term sustainability of technology solutions. It also provides expert advice to internal stakeholders and partner organizations within the broader network. This position plays an important role in major technology incidents by coordinating the technical expertise needed to restore critical services quickly and safely. The scope includes helping define and maintain standards, reference models, and governance practices that support consistent technology choices across the organization. The incumbent contributes to decision-making forums, recommends technology roadmaps, and helps steer the evolution from the current environment toward the target state. Key responsibilities include overseeing architecture design for projects, ensuring proposed solutions align with approved architectural directions, and assessing the technology impact of major transformation initiatives. The role also advises leadership on the evolution of the organization’s technology vision and works closely with teams responsible for infrastructure, communications, user environments, and shared digital services.
