Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced systems engineer to support rail and transit projects through early planning, design, integration, testing, and delivery. This role focuses on applying systems engineering methods to complex transportation work, with particular emphasis on reducing project risk during pre-design and detailed design phases. You will help develop key project deliverables such as system architecture breakdowns, requirements documentation, interface definitions, verification and validation plans, and integration schedules. The position also involves supporting signaling, train control, communications, and control system design, along with related safety and assurance activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing technical specifications, design packages, electrical schematics, bill of materials, test procedures, and commissioning plans. You will contribute to hazard identification, risk assessment, safety planning, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The role requires coordination with multidisciplinary teams, internal reviewers, external stakeholders, and clients to keep work progressing on schedule and aligned with project goals. The successful candidate will have strong technical judgment, the ability to support proposals and meetings, and experience delivering engineering work to a high standard of quality. This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage technical details while supporting the overall success of transportation infrastructure projects.
