Senior Program Underwriting Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Program Underwriting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Assistant Vice President and collaborate closely with senior business leaders to support various commercial lines programs through delegated underwriting authority. A creative, solutions-oriented approach to program underwriting and a strong focus on customer service for our partners are essential. Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating exposures, determining appropriate coverage, terms, conditions, limits, pricing, and negotiating with brokers and managing general agents (MGAs) for new and renewal program business. You will assist with referrals and escalations, build insurance wordings and agreements, monitor and audit programs, and ensure compliance with departmental documentation requirements. Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and partners is critical, as is presenting to brokers and managing relationships to foster business growth. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in commercial underwriting, preferably in program underwriting. A university degree or college diploma is required, along with CIP or FCIP designations preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills in English are required. The anticipated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $140,000, with variations based on local market conditions.
