Senior Legal Counsel

A dynamic fintech company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its growth. In this role, you will report to the General Counsel and serve as a hands-on legal advisor across various teams, addressing commercial, privacy, product, operational, and regulatory matters. This position is well-suited for a lawyer with a strong understanding of financial services who enjoys working closely with the business and handling diverse legal tasks. Key responsibilities include acting as a trusted legal advisor, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing practical legal advice on product initiatives, and advising on privacy and data matters. You will also guide the responsible use of emerging technologies and develop contract templates and policies to enhance business operations. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of legal experience, preferably in financial services or a regulated industry, with strong commercial contracting skills. You should be comfortable working with regulated products and translating legal requirements into business-oriented guidance. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with a collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in both French and English is required, along with membership in a provincial bar in Canada.
