This role provides strategic and day-to-day HR support to assigned business groups, helping leaders address people-related needs across employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, learning, and organizational development. The position also supports the HR aspects of business acquisitions and integration activities within the region.
Working in a hybrid arrangement in the Montreal area, the HR business partner serves as a primary contact for managers and leaders, offering guidance that supports engagement, productivity, retention, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The role involves partnering with leadership to understand business goals and challenges, then translating those needs into practical HR solutions.
Responsibilities include handling employee relations matters, conducting objective investigations, and recommending actions to reduce repeat issues. The position also supports organizational planning, workforce changes, job reclassifications, promotions, transfers, and separation processes. It uses workforce data to help improve business effectiveness and informs policy and process updates to strengthen HR practices.
The role requires close collaboration with other HR specialists and internal stakeholders to support talent management, succession planning, compensation reviews, and compliance with applicable employment laws and internal policies. Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to advise leaders on sensitive employee matters are important for success.
