Position: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Remote
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 CAD
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting financial analysis and reporting. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely close processes, and adhering to accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be a proactive accounting professional who enjoys building structure and contributing to a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts for accuracy and consistency.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee month-end accounting close activities, including journal entries and general ledger processes.
- Prepare and analyze variance reports comparing actual results to budget and forecasts.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for internal reporting and tax purposes.
- Draft and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable finance processes.
- Manage accounting operations activities including Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Work with external auditors and tax accountants as needed.
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and documentation.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation.
- 3-5 years of experience in a senior accounting or controllership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements.
- Understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial close processes.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
