We are seeking an experienced environmental professional to lead assessment and permitting work for projects in the resource and industrial sectors. This position involves guiding planning studies, preparing environmental and social impact assessment materials, and supporting permit applications from early scoping through final submission. You will work closely with technical specialists to shape project design, improve environmental outcomes, and help navigate regulatory requirements efficiently.
The role includes reviewing and editing technical reports, coordinating input from multiple disciplines, and providing senior-level quality control on project deliverables. You will also support compliance and governance activities, contribute to risk reviews, and help prepare presentations and other materials for meetings, workshops, and consultations.
A key part of the position is building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, government bodies, stakeholders, and project partners. You will support consultation efforts, help integrate feedback into assessment and permitting documents, and represent projects in formal and community settings. Staying current on changing legislation and regulatory expectations is also important, along with sharing relevant updates across the team.
The successful candidate will bring a degree or equivalent background, several years of relevant consulting or industry experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Experience with northern and western Canadian regulatory environments is an asset, as is a collaborative approach to mentoring junior staff.
