Senior Electrical Engineer

An experienced electrical engineer is needed to support municipal utility projects in Alberta and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver design and construction services. This position involves taking ownership of technical tasks across the project lifecycle, from early assessments through to commissioning and closeout. The role includes coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders, preparing contract and construction documents, and reviewing designs for buildability. You will also carry out site visits, field observations, and condition assessments; track construction records such as change notices, shop drawings, test documentation, and record drawings; and help oversee quality control and testing during construction. Additional duties may include preparing calculations, estimates, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical notes, as well as attending project meetings and supporting troubleshooting and start-up activities. There may also be opportunities to contribute to software-related tasks and to guide junior team members. Candidates should have an electrical engineering degree or a related technical diploma, and be registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training in Alberta. A strong consulting background, solid project coordination experience, and comfort working with clients are important. Familiarity with Canadian electrical standards, strong communication skills, and proficiency with common office software are expected. The successful candidate will be organized, professional, adaptable, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment. Compensation is expected to fall within a competitive annual salary range, depending on experience and qualifications.
