Senior Accountant

This position involves independently managing a portfolio of client files for both businesses and individuals, including related tax work and financial reporting. The role requires preparing complete files for review by a manager or partner once all requested information and supporting documents have been gathered and processed. Key responsibilities include preparing compilation financial statements in line with established firm procedures and recognized accounting standards, with possible involvement in review and audit engagements depending on workload. The role also includes preparing personal and corporate tax returns, analyzing accounting records and financial documents, and serving as a point of contact for both internal teams and clients. You may also help identify practical solutions based on discussions with clients and colleagues, and assist in training junior staff or interns when needed. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in public accounting or bookkeeping, along with a background in accounting. Professional accounting designation is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of tax preparation tools and working familiarity with accounting software are also preferred. Attention to detail, efficiency, strong written and spoken French, and a collaborative mindset are important. Experience in the agricultural sector is an added advantage. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with full-time in-person training during the initial weeks, followed by a mostly remote arrangement. Compensation starts at 55,000 dollars annually, depending on experience, and includes group insurance.
