SAP System Specialist

The SAP System Specialist supports production planning operations through planning system optimization, process standardization, and cross-functional coordination. This role is a key resource for SAP-related implementation activities, planning system enhancements, engineering change management, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on material availability and on-time delivery. Working closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and IT teams, the specialist helps improve planning accuracy, data integrity, and operational efficiency across manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include maintaining planning standards, identifying opportunities for process and system improvement, supporting testing and validation activities, and helping ensure operational readiness during system changes. The role also involves assisting with planning parameters such as forecasts, lot sizes, reorder points, lead times, and inventory settings within SAP, as well as reconciling ERP data to support inventory accuracy. The successful candidate will participate in root cause analysis, support resolution of material or system issues, and serve as a subject matter resource for planning processes and material flow. A post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred. Strong Excel skills, experience with ERP/MRP systems preferably SAP, and excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills are required. Experience with SAP implementations or planning and inventory control in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
