Research and Innovation Specialist

POSITION PROFILE: RESEARCH AND INNOVATION SPECIALIST Reports to: Director, Health Services Quality and Modernization Vacancy Reason: Existing Role - Replacement ABOUT THE POSITION The Research and Innovation Specialist (RIS) is responsible for developing relationships with partners and synthesizing various forms of evidence to ensure timely access to relevant information. The RIS leads initiatives for knowledge mobilization that advance organizational priorities to achieve desired changes in programs, policies, and practices. This role involves conducting research and integrated knowledge mobilization, including the development and dissemination of innovative approaches to evidence-based research and training materials that support knowledge and change among diverse audiences. The RIS establishes strategic partnerships and collaborates with various divisions to achieve these objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES RESEARCH AND INTEGRATED KNOWLEDGE MOBILIZATION STRATEGY * Plans and conducts multiple research and knowledge mobilization projects, including determining study design and managing project scope, timelines, and costs. * Collaborates with colleagues to interpret and summarize research findings for knowledge mobilization plans and tools to inform practice and policy development. * Contributes to research proposals to secure additional project funding. * Presents research findings at conferences and workshops, adapting presentations to suit different audiences. * Supports project management activities, coordinating work and identifying deliverables, timelines, and risks. PARTNERSHIP ENGAGEMENT * Initiates and develops strategic relationships with partners, including those with relevant lived experiences. * Manages project development efforts, maintaining engagement and communication with partners. * Identifies potential risks and benefits for projects and collaborates with the team to address challenges. * Tracks deliverables and fosters strong relationships through ongoing support and communication.
