Regulatory Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Advisor to support land, permitting, and compliance work for major industrial projects in the energy sector. This permanent, on-site role is based in Edmonton and will focus on coordinating regulatory activities during the engineering stage of large capital programs. The successful candidate will prepare and manage permit and licence submissions, build practical permitting schedules, and help guide project teams through applicable regulatory and environmental requirements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and government agencies to keep approvals moving and ensure obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include maintaining records of applicable regulations, supporting inspections and audits with technical documents and assessments, and contributing to environmental review and approval packages. The role also involves interpreting policies, standards, and procedures and advising teams on compliance matters. We are looking for someone with several years of experience in regulatory, permitting, or approvals work on complex industrial projects, ideally within energy-related environments. A background in engineering, environmental science, or a similar discipline is preferred. Familiarity with technical project documents and Canadian regulatory requirements is important, and experience in western Canada is considered an asset.
