We are seeking an experienced refinery planning professional to support downstream oil and gas optimization projects. In this role, you will help develop short- and medium-range operating plans, maintain linear programming models, and analyze how crude choices, unit constraints, and product demand affect overall margin. The work is focused on improving commercial and operational outcomes through better planning, scenario analysis, and data-driven decision-making. Key duties include evaluating crude and feedstock options, supporting crude blending and valuation work, and contributing to economic analysis such as margin tracking, plan-versus-actual review, and financial modeling. You will work closely with teams across trading, operations, scheduling, and finance to align assumptions and support integrated decisions. Additional responsibilities may include helping with crude scheduling, inventory coordination, logistics planning, and model improvements or rebuilds where needed. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with refinery planning tools, strong knowledge of refining economics, and a solid understanding of core refining processes. Strong Excel and analytical skills are important, along with the ability to validate data, manage stakeholders, and communicate findings clearly. A degree in chemical or petroleum engineering is preferred, with experience level ranging from junior to senior depending on the assignment. Permanent, contract, remote, and travel-based opportunities may be available.
