This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both office and remote work. The successful candidate will provide senior technical leadership in geology, specifically supporting feasibility-level studies for a significant mining project. Reporting to the General Manager, this position serves as the technical authority for geoscience, responsible for study integration, mineral reporting, and geological risk management. The Principal Geologist will ensure that geological inputs are accurate, defensible, and aligned with project objectives.
Key responsibilities include leading geological feasibility studies, validating geological and resource models, and providing technical oversight for various workstreams including mineral resource estimation and mine planning. The role also involves designing and supervising geoscience and exploration field programs, managing contractors, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Candidates should possess extensive experience in geology, with a strong understanding of feasibility studies and resource estimation processes. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. A relevant degree and professional certification are required.
