Principal Engineer

We are seeking a senior hands-on engineer to help build a new platform from the ground up. This role will own the technical direction for an early-stage product focused on automating complex planning and design work that is currently done manually. You will be responsible for shaping the architecture, making key technology choices, and writing the first production code that the rest of the team will build upon. This is a high-ownership position suited to someone who enjoys operating in an early product environment with limited process and significant ambiguity. You should be comfortable turning broad business needs into reliable software, working closely with subject matter experts, and creating systems that are built for long-term maintainability. The role requires extensive experience building cloud-based backend or platform systems, including at least one example of taking a product from concept to production while owning major architecture decisions. Strong experience with distributed systems, modern deployment practices, and core engineering principles such as performance, reliability, and scalability is important. Experience with Python and backend frameworks is preferred, and familiarity with AI-enabled workflows, orchestration systems, optimization tools, or logistics-related systems would be an advantage.
