We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Team. The Payroll Department is dedicated to ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for administering payroll and benefits across various entities. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will be essential for maintaining payroll records, addressing employee inquiries, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate is motivated to expand their payroll knowledge and thrives in a fast-paced environment requiring accuracy and attention to detail. You should be exceptionally organized, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain strict confidentiality while working with stakeholders. A quick learner with a process-driven mindset, you will excel under deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively. Candidates should have a solid background in payroll and benefits administration, with at least 4 years of experience in Canadian payroll and accounting, and 3 years of experience with complex payroll systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. A degree in Accounting Administration or a related field is necessary, and a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset. French language proficiency and union experience are considered a plus. Key responsibilities include managing payroll processing, maintaining payroll and benefits accuracy, developing standard procedures, enhancing payroll systems, and supporting financial reporting. Additional hours may be required during month-end, year-end, and implementation periods.
