A manufacturing facility is seeking a Millwright to support equipment upkeep and repair in a production setting. This role is part of a unionized maintenance team focused on keeping operations running safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will service, adjust, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment used in daily production, with work scheduled on rotating shifts that may include nights and weekends.
Key responsibilities include installing and repairing production machinery, carrying out preventive maintenance, responding to work orders, and documenting labor, inventory, and completed tasks in a maintenance system. The position also involves reading mechanical drawings and schematics, using machining and fabrication skills for repairs or improvements, and helping identify ways to improve equipment reliability and performance. All work must follow food safety, quality, and workplace health and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate holds a valid Millwright or Industrial Mechanic certificate and has some experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge is needed, including familiarity with power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, compressors, welding equipment, and basic control systems. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently or as part of a team, and capable of some heavy lifting.
