Mechanical Technologist, Plumbing

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technologist to support plumbing design work within a building services team. This full-time, in-office role is based in southwestern Ontario and involves contributing to projects in residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. In this position, you will help prepare plumbing drawings and related documentation for permit and construction stages, working under the guidance of project leadership. You will also coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal staff to help keep design work aligned with project goals, schedules, and quality expectations. Day-to-day tasks may include supporting design brief development, checking project documentation, reviewing submittals, assisting with construction-phase questions, and participating in site reviews when needed. The role requires strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to manage several assignments at once. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A background in mechanical or architectural technology, or a similar program, is preferred, along with several years of relevant experience in plumbing design or installation on building projects. Experience with multi-unit residential and other building types is an asset. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a professional approach to coordination and documentation are important for success in this position.
