Mechanical Engineering Team Lead

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to guide a team of engineers and designers working on the development of power distribution equipment. In this role, you will balance technical leadership with direct involvement in design work, helping deliver solutions that satisfy customer requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing needs. You will be responsible for organizing team priorities, supporting schedules, and coaching team members through feedback, training, and ongoing technical development. A major part of the role involves reviewing and creating mechanical designs and specifications, including structural components, enclosures, mounting features, lifting arrangements, and related assemblies. You will also perform engineering calculations related to strength, thermal performance, and dimensional fit, and use standard CAD and design tools to produce drawings, models, and manufacturing documentation. The position requires close collaboration with electrical, production, quality, and supply chain teams to improve design accuracy, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness. You will help investigate design issues, support corrective actions, and contribute to process improvements and design standards. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, extensive experience in equipment design, and prior experience leading engineering staff. Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, ERP systems, and familiarity with fabrication, welding, sheet metal design, and relevant industry standards are important.
