Mechanical Engineering Lead

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to guide a small design group and support the delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering work for complex industrial equipment. This role involves leading day-to-day design activity, reviewing technical output, and helping resolve challenges across new builds and upgrades to existing machinery. The right candidate will have substantial experience in mechanical design within industrial and manufacturing environments, along with strong hands-on knowledge of 3D CAD, layout development, fixture design, and custom machine construction. Experience with cell simulation, reverse engineering from scanned data, and creating detailed models and documentation is also important. Familiarity with machinery safety considerations and relevant standards is required. Key responsibilities include mentoring engineers, coordinating with internal teams, clients, and suppliers, checking drawings and specifications, preparing bills of materials, and carrying out engineering calculations related to strength, loads, speed, temperature, and pressure. You will also support site investigations, document updates, and design changes throughout the project lifecycle. A mechanical engineering diploma or degree is required, along with several years of relevant industry experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and proficiency with common engineering software and office tools are essential. Overtime may be required depending on workload. Salary is competitive and will be based on experience.
