Mechanical Engineer

An established engineering team is looking for a licensed mechanical engineer to support building projects from early concept through construction closeout. This role focuses on HVAC and related building systems, with added exposure to energy efficiency, decarbonization, and major retrofit work. The successful candidate will work with clients and internal project teams, helping shape practical solutions for a range of facilities such as institutional, commercial, municipal, and industrial buildings. Key duties include conducting site visits and technical assessments, preparing mechanical designs, coordinating with project stakeholders, and supporting the delivery of documents throughout design, tendering, and construction phases. You will also contribute to reports, technical specifications, budget estimates, and scheduling, while assisting in the coordination of junior team members when needed. A strong attention to quality and compliance is important. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, professional licensure, and several years of relevant experience in building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical services. Familiarity with Canadian codes and standards, building controls, and common design software is expected. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to build client relationships are essential. A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation are required for project travel.
