Manager of Recreation & Community Operations A municipal organization is seeking a Manager of Recreation & Community Operations to provide leadership for recreation services, community programming, facilities, parks operations, special events, and community engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Community Services, this role oversees daily operations and supports service delivery that is efficient, customer-focused, and aligned with organizational priorities. The successful candidate will supervise and support team leads and departmental staff, including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and casual employees. Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, performance management, and staff development, while fostering a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused workplace culture. The role also ensures compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, municipal policies, and workplace procedures. Key duties include overseeing recreation facilities, parks, sports fields, trails, community centres, and other municipal amenities; ensuring spaces are safe, clean, accessible, and maintained to established standards; and responding to operational issues, public concerns, and service requests in a timely, professional manner. The position also supports recreation programming and community services, with a focus on operational planning, financial accountability, and continuous improvement. This role works collaboratively with internal departments and community partners to support municipal priorities and community initiatives.
