This position leads a review function within a workers’ compensation environment. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day review activities, support staff handling contested decisions, and help ensure outcomes are consistent with applicable legislation, policies, and service standards. The role includes guiding team members through complex file reviews, interpreting policy intent, and strengthening the quality and consistency of decisions.
Key responsibilities include monitoring review outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring cases are prepared appropriately for further external review when required. The manager will also support representation at hearings, helping staff present the organization’s position clearly and accurately on worker, employer, and related program matters. In addition, this role contributes to the development and monitoring of internal standards and practices, with a focus on compliance, timeliness, and sound decision-making.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and several years of experience in a claims, compensation, or similar decision-making environment. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, privacy requirements, and internal procedures is important. Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to coach others, work collaboratively, and manage multiple priorities in a busy operational setting.
