This role provides senior support for board operations, corporate governance, risk management, and compliance within a public-sector organization. Reporting to executive leadership, the Manager, Governance helps strengthen governance practices, improve board and committee effectiveness, and ensure key decisions and actions are managed with care and consistency. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining governance policies, procedures, and frameworks; coordinating board and committee calendars; and working with committee chairs and senior leaders to prepare agendas, workplans, and reporting materials. The position advises leadership on governance risks, board process, policy requirements, and the implications of organizational or regulatory changes. It also manages the preparation and distribution of confidential meeting materials, records accurate minutes, and tracks follow-up items to support timely decision-making. The role supports director onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing education, and helps administer annual governance requirements such as declarations and related compliance documentation. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in governance, enterprise risk, and compliance, along with excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills. This position suits a collaborative professional who can work closely with executives and board members while maintaining high standards of accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality.
