This role leads a maintenance team across multiple sites and helps ensure equipment, facilities, and work areas are operated safely and efficiently. The manager will partner closely with operations, safety, finance, and technical teams to support daily performance, improve reliability, and keep work on track.
Key responsibilities include guiding maintenance staff, coordinating outside contractors, responding to urgent issues, and overseeing both planned work and special projects. The role also involves building and maintaining preventive maintenance programs, supporting safety procedures and audits, and helping deliver technical and safety training. In addition, the manager will contribute to budgets, capital planning, cost reviews, and continuous improvement efforts. Strong coaching skills are important, as the position includes mentoring team members, giving performance feedback, and supporting employee development. Clear communication with internal partners and external vendors is also essential.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage. Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred, along with knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance software, reading technical documents, and working with industrial equipment. Travel to other locations may be required. Physical work may involve standing, bending, lifting, and working in varied environmental conditions.
