Lead Programmer

We are seeking an experienced lead programmer to guide a development team and contribute hands-on to a range of software engineering tasks within a game production environment. This role combines technical leadership with active coding, planning, and problem-solving across the full development lifecycle. You will work closely with technical and production partners to shape the technical direction of the project, review design documents, and help ensure the team delivers reliable, maintainable, high-quality code. The ideal candidate brings several years of programming experience in game development or a related software field, along with strong C++ expertise, solid object-oriented design skills, and a practical understanding of math used in 3D systems. You should be comfortable mentoring other programmers, giving and receiving feedback on code quality, and stepping into unfamiliar areas when needed to solve issues, improve performance, or support integration work. This position is remote, but candidates must be based in British Columbia, ideally near the Vancouver area. Additional experience with other programming languages, testing practices, mobile platforms, server-side systems, cloud services, or live operations support would be an asset. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Strong communication, self-direction, and the ability to estimate work realistically are important for success.
