Journeyman Sprinklerfitter – Field Lead
A well-established life safety contractor in the Lower Mainland is seeking a Journeyman Sprinklerfitter for a working lead role. This full-time position combines hands-on field work with team coordination and mentoring. The successful candidate will install, inspect, test, service, and modify a range of suppression systems, troubleshoot performance issues, complete repairs, and support new construction and retrofit projects.
In addition to technical duties, this role includes leading and supporting a team of technicians in the field. Responsibilities include providing regular feedback, coaching apprentices and journeyman-level staff, assisting with hiring support for apprentices, and working closely with management and other trades to keep projects organized and on schedule.
Requirements include a valid BC Journeyman Sprinklerfitter certification, at least 5 years of relevant experience, working knowledge of NFPA standards and the BC Building Code, and a valid BC driver’s licence with a clean driving record. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills are essential. Additional certifications related to backflow prevention, codes, or lift operation are considered assets.
This position offers $39–$43 per hour, a service vehicle and fuel card, extended health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP matching, and stable year-round work. Overtime and on-call work may be required.
