Intermediate Underwriter

We are seeking an Intermediate Underwriter to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role involves reviewing applications, analyzing risk exposures, and determining the acceptability of risks in line with established policies and guidelines. Responsibilities include underwriting and quoting new business, renewals, and endorsements, as well as determining appropriate premiums, coverages, terms, and conditions within delegated authority. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with brokers and provide responsive service to support both new and existing business. Candidates should have 3-5+ years of underwriting experience, with a strong understanding of farm risk exposures such as livestock, crops, and liability. A college diploma or certificate is required, and progress towards a CIP designation is considered an asset. Experience with underwriting authority levels and broker interactions is essential, along with strong negotiation skills and the ability to assess exposures and analyze risk. We are looking for a collaborative, self-motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound decision-making abilities, time management, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and adaptability to new technology is also necessary. A genuine interest in agriculture and rural communities is highly valued. The salary range for this position is approximately $58,000 to $85,000, along with a competitive compensation package.
