Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing structural calculations using empirical formulas and first principles in accordance with Classification Regulations. You will prepare structural drawing packages for submission to Classification Societies, with guidance from the Project Manager and other structural resources. Additionally, you will estimate structural weights and perform specialized structural tasks to support project needs. The role requires a working knowledge of Classification Society Rules and Flag State Regulations, as well as participation in onsite visits to client facilities for measurements and inspections. You will also carry out repair and refit drawings and calculations as needed. The position may involve mentoring junior staff and participating in functional groups within the organization. Candidates should hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and typically have 5+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering, particularly in ship design. An understanding of ship stability, propulsion systems, and ship structure is essential. Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office and AutoCAD, is required, along with strong communication skills in English. The position offers a competitive salary range of CA $95,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
