Intermediate Farm Underwriter

We are seeking an Intermediate Farm Underwriter to join our team. This role involves reviewing applications, analyzing risk exposures, and determining the acceptability of risks in line with company policies and regulations. Responsibilities include underwriting and quoting new business, renewals, and endorsements, as well as determining appropriate premiums, coverages, terms, and conditions within designated authority. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with brokers and provide excellent service to support both new and existing business. Candidates should have 3-5+ years of underwriting experience, particularly in farm risk exposures such as livestock, crops, barns, machinery, and liability. A college diploma or certificate is required, and progress toward a CIP designation is considered an asset. Experience with underwriting authority levels and broker-facing roles is preferred. Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills are essential, along with the ability to assess exposures and mitigate risk effectively. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and customer service skills, demonstrate integrity and professionalism, and be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and related applications.
