Human Resources Director

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead people operations and recruitment for a growing, service-based organization. This senior role is both strategic and hands-on, with responsibility for helping shape HR direction while also staying closely involved in day-to-day employee support and hiring activities. The successful candidate will work with leadership and operational managers to strengthen workforce planning, improve hiring outcomes, support employee retention, and promote a positive, accountable workplace culture. This position requires a practical HR leader who can move comfortably between strategy, coaching, problem-solving, and administration in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include leading recruitment and onboarding, advising managers on employee relations matters, supporting performance management, handling investigations and conflict resolution, and helping maintain consistent HR practices. The role also involves working with unionized employees, supporting collective agreement administration, and contributing to labour relations and dispute resolution where needed. Additional duties include overseeing HR policies, maintaining accurate employee records, supporting payroll-related processes, improving systems and workflows, and preparing reports on hiring, turnover, attendance, and retention trends. The role also includes budget oversight and ongoing process improvement.
