We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to provide both strategic and day-to-day support to leaders across a public sector organization. This full-time, permanent role focuses on employee and labour relations, organizational development, and leadership support within a collaborative HR team.
In this position, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers on matters such as workplace conflict, investigations, attendance management, performance concerns, discipline, and grievance handling. You will help interpret collective agreements, employment standards, internal policies, and related legislation, while contributing to the preparation of materials for labour relations processes and bargaining activities. For complex or sensitive situations, you will work with legal advisors, external specialists, and internal stakeholders as needed.
The role also supports broader people-focused initiatives, including employee engagement, leadership development, change management, and organizational improvement projects. You may coordinate workshops, meetings, and training sessions, and assist leaders in planning and implementing change initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring strong judgment, relationship-building skills, and experience advising leaders in a unionized environment. A background in HR consulting, investigations, and organizational development is preferred.
