We are seeking a supervisor to lead a heritage-focused visitor service and retail operation. In this role, you will support cultural programming, welcome guests, and help create a respectful, engaging, and educational environment for citizens, visitors, and staff. The position combines program coordination with day-to-day retail oversight, including customer service, cash handling, inventory tracking, and basic administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, confidence speaking with groups, and the ability to research and share information in a clear and approachable way. Experience in customer service, retail operations, or a similar front-line setting is important, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and work independently. An interest in history, culture, traditions, and community service is essential. A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience is required.
Applicants should be comfortable using standard point-of-sale and inventory systems and working with modern office tools. The role also requires a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, a valid driver’s licence, first aid certification or willingness to obtain it, and completion of cultural awareness training. A competitive annual salary is offered.
