Health and Safety Officer

We are seeking a proactive health and safety professional to support a busy manufacturing operation. In this role, you will help strengthen workplace safety practices, improve procedures, and promote a strong safety mindset across the site. You will work with operations leaders, supervisors, employees, and HR to develop and maintain safe work processes, carry out inspections, and investigate incidents and other safety concerns. A key part of the role is preparing clear safety documentation, including procedures, assessments, checklists, and training materials, while also helping deliver orientation, refresher training, and regular safety communications. You will support committee activities, keep records organized and current, and assist with compliance-related matters, including interactions with regulators. The position also includes helping manage claims administration, return-to-work activities, emergency readiness, and fire safety planning. The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or a related field, along with several years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction setting. A recognized safety designation or progress toward one is an asset. Strong knowledge of applicable workplace safety legislation, along with experience in incident investigation, hazard assessment, procedure writing, and employee coaching, is important. Good communication, organization, and attention to detail are essential. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a growing organization.
