We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role will involve working directly on-site, ensuring that all crews and subcontractors adhere to safety protocols daily. You will report to the Health and Safety Director and play a crucial role in fostering a strong safety culture within the organization.
Key responsibilities include conducting regular safety observations, inspections, and risk assessments, leading accident investigations, and maintaining accurate documentation of safety records and incidents. You will also be responsible for delivering health and safety training sessions, drafting safety information for teams, analyzing safety data, and collaborating with project managers to resolve safety issues promptly.
The ideal candidate will possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and mentor diverse groups. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, along with the capacity to liaise with regulatory agencies.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, a solid understanding of construction safety management, and be eligible for or working toward relevant safety certifications.
This position offers four weeks of vacation, comprehensive health benefits, RRSP matching, and opportunities for career advancement. The expected salary range is $70,000 – $115,000, depending on experience and location.
