Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for a multi-site retail business in the agricultural sector. This position plays a key role in supporting leadership with accurate information, stronger controls, and practical recommendations that improve performance across the organization. In this hands-on role, you will lead close activities, prepare and review reconciliations and journal entries, and help maintain reliable financial records. You will also monitor cash needs, support working capital planning, and provide oversight of receivables, payables, and credit-related exposure. A further part of the job is managing inventory accounting processes, reviewing valuations, and helping ensure balances are properly reconciled. You will work closely with operations and accounting teams to refine workflows, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls. The role includes support for audit work, tax and statutory reporting, and compliance with applicable policies and requirements. You will also contribute to system improvements and process automation where opportunities exist. The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation, has a degree in a relevant field, and brings several years of progressive accounting experience, including prior controller-level responsibility. Strong leadership, communication, and Excel skills are important, along with experience using accounting or ERP software. Experience in agriculture or a multi-location environment is an asset.
