Financial Analyst

This role supports the finance function by working closely with the Controller and plant leadership to provide accurate reporting, analysis, and day-to-day accounting support. The successful candidate will help keep financial processes organized, timely, and compliant while contributing to business decisions through sound analysis and clear communication. Key responsibilities include supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities, with backup coverage as needed. The position also involves cash flow planning, financial analysis, risk review, and assistance with forecasting. Additional duties include reconciling bank and intercompany balances, preparing monthly journal entries and supporting schedules, and handling banking transactions. The analyst will also support inventory counts and reporting, maintain records for assets and costing, and assist with fixed asset and capital tracking. Preparation of financial statements, internal schedules, and required government filings is also part of the role. The ideal candidate holds a degree in accounting or business and brings several years of progressive accounting experience. Professional accounting designation is preferred, along with experience supervising or training others. Exposure to external audits is important, and experience with research and development tax incentives would be an asset. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.
