Financial Accountant Location: Hybrid Role Type: Full-Time This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional eager to take ownership of the finance function and develop scalable processes. Key Responsibilities - Manage the full-cycle accounting function, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial records. - Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in a timely manner. - Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards. - Prepare internal financial reports to aid leadership decision-making. - Collaborate with external accountants to support audit and compliance requirements. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking ongoing financial performance. - Analyze variances and provide insights into financial trends and business performance. - Establish and improve processes and controls to support scalable growth. - Support grant reporting and other funding-related financial requirements. Must-Have Requirements - Strong accounting foundation with experience in full-cycle accounting. - CPA designation (or actively pursuing) is strongly preferred. - Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build and manage financial models. - Experience in financial reporting, close processes, and general ledger management. - High attention to detail with a structured and process-oriented mindset. - Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with senior leadership. - Comfortable operating independently in an individual contributor role. Assets - Experience in technology or SaaS environments. - Background in public accounting. - Exposure to inventory, cost accounting, or operational finance. - Familiarity with grant reporting and modern financial systems. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
