Farm Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced underwriter to support a growing property and casualty insurance team focused on farm and rural accounts. In this role, you will review submissions, evaluate exposures, and decide whether risks fit within company guidelines and applicable regulations. You will handle new business, renewals, and policy changes, while setting suitable pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions within your authority. Building productive relationships with brokers and other partners will be an important part of the position, along with delivering timely and professional service to clients and internal teammates. The ideal candidate has several years of underwriting experience, preferably with knowledge of agricultural risks such as buildings, equipment, livestock, crops, and liability. A post-secondary credential is preferred, and progress toward a recognized insurance designation would be an asset. You should be comfortable working on more complex accounts, discussing coverage and pricing, and making sound decisions with limited supervision. Strong analytical ability, good judgment, and attention to detail are essential. We are also looking for someone who is organized, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
