The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in transforming ideas into finished, tested, market-ready products. This position requires a hands-on engineer who manages projects from initial concept through quoting, design, prototyping, and field testing, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met at every stage. Collaboration with senior engineers and partner teams is essential to turn specifications into reality while adhering to all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Key qualifications include a degree in mechanical engineering and strong practical understanding of design functionality. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software is required, with a preference for SolidWorks and a necessity for AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will demonstrate end-to-end project ownership, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to consolidate cost, risk, and return data for project approvals.
Daily responsibilities involve obtaining project quotes, conducting cost and risk analysis, creating and modifying CAD models, benchmarking competitor products, conducting material research, establishing testing methods, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2-3 years of relevant experience, and strong project management skills. Excellent communication abilities and a self-starter attitude in a fast-paced environment are essential.
