We are seeking an engineer with experience in transportation and active mobility for a temporary assignment of approximately three years. In this role, you will help deliver bicycle and active travel corridor projects designed to improve safety, comfort, clarity, and overall usability for people moving through urban streets. The position requires close collaboration with multiple internal teams and outside partners throughout planning, design, and construction.
You will join a multidisciplinary environment bringing together professionals from engineering, transportation planning, civil technology, urban design, architecture, and active mobility. Your technical expertise, sound judgment, and coordination skills will support the successful delivery of projects that have a direct impact on how people travel in the city.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing and developing active transportation and street design projects, analyzing complex traffic and safety issues, and proposing practical solutions for roadway operations, signal timing, and urban integration. You will help ensure projects account for walking, cycling, transit, vehicle movement, parking, greening, drainage, accessibility, and public safety. You will also support construction-phase follow-up, address field issues as they arise, and help maintain quality and consistency across projects. In addition, you may represent the organization in technical meetings and public information sessions.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, several years of relevant experience, membership in the provincial engineering order, and strong knowledge of roadway standards and applicable regulations.
