Employment Specialist

We are seeking a permanent full-time Employment Specialist to work remotely in Western Canada. In this role, you will support participants who are preparing to re-enter the workforce and need guidance navigating employment barriers related to health or recovery. You will build strong working relationships with employers and community organizations to develop placement opportunities and create a dependable network of support. Key responsibilities include coaching participants throughout the job search process, helping address challenges before they affect progress, and identifying suitable employment opportunities based on local labour market conditions. You will also collaborate with colleagues across regions to maintain broader employer relationships, represent the program at networking and recruitment events, and promote the value of hiring candidates with diverse experiences and abilities. In addition, you will contribute ideas to improve employment services and strengthen participant outcomes. The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in a related field and several years of experience in employment services, job development, or a similar client-facing role. Experience supporting people with complex health, mental health, or physical barriers is an asset. Strong digital skills, excellent relationship-building ability, and knowledge of regional labour markets are important. A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel are required. This position is contingent on obtaining federal reliability clearance.
