The Employee Engagement Specialist reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Director of Care, department leaders, and senior HR staff to support workforce planning and human resources initiatives. This role helps address both immediate and long-term staffing needs through recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee engagement, wellness, performance management, talent development, and succession planning. Key responsibilities include coordinating recruitment efforts through job boards, educational institutions, community outreach, and social media; supporting outreach partnerships with schools, colleges, workforce agencies, and community organizations; and assisting with onboarding processes for new hires. The position also supports immigration-related processes for internationally trained candidates, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements and helping coordinate relocation and onboarding needs. In addition, the role helps administer government-funded employment and training programs, tracks participation and outcomes, and supports the use of workforce data and dashboards to measure recruitment effectiveness, turnover, engagement, and other key indicators. The specialist will provide monthly reporting, trend analysis, and recommendations to leadership, and act as a resource for effective use of the organization’s HR information system. This is an existing vacancy with a starting annual salary of $76,000.
