Electrical Engineer-in-Training / Electrical Designer

We are seeking an intermediate-level electrical engineering professional to join a consulting team focused on building systems work on Vancouver Island. This role suits someone early in their career who has a strong technical base and wants to grow in electrical design, project coordination, and client-facing consulting. Under the direction of senior staff, you will support assessments and upgrades to building electrical systems. Work may include power distribution, lighting, control systems, fire alarm, electric vehicle charging, renewable energy systems, energy storage, and communication infrastructure. You will participate in site visits, system reviews, technical analysis, and design development, while also contributing to project delivery from proposal support through design, procurement, and construction-phase assistance. Key duties include helping prepare reports and technical documents, supporting tender package content, and using standard drafting and office software to produce design materials. You will also communicate with clients, owners, design professionals, contractors, suppliers, and authorities as part of coordinated project work. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a similar field, several years of relevant building electrical design experience, and is registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-in-Training. Experience with drafting tools, strong written communication skills, and familiarity with applicable codes and standards are important. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, a 40-hour work week, and a salary in the range of $75,000 to $85,000 annually.
