We are seeking a Disability Case Manager to oversee the management of short-term disability claims from initiation to resolution. The successful candidate will assess functional abilities, determine eligibility, coordinate medical care, and facilitate safe and timely return-to-work outcomes. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a client-centered approach.
Key responsibilities include reviewing short-term disability applications to ensure eligibility based on medical and policy criteria, verifying that all documentation is complete and accurate for claim adjudication, and evaluating claims through communication with claimants, employers, and healthcare providers. The Disability Case Manager will also assess functional abilities, support return-to-work planning, coordinate medical assessments and treatment plans, and communicate claim decisions clearly. Additionally, the role involves managing claims throughout their lifecycle, resolving client inquiries, calculating benefit payments, and maintaining precise records.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a health-related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in disability case management, benefits administration, or claims adjudication. Strong understanding of medical and mental health conditions, excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, and strong communication skills are essential. Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset. A successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
